Honey with Amla is a health food which contains Amla or indian gooseberry extract mixed in honey.
Amla also known as amlaki or the indian gooseberry has been extensively used in the indian household as a panacea for all ills. Besides sugars (about 75 per cent) and water, honey contains small amounts of calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium, sulphur, phosphorus and protein. Traditionally, honey has been used as a ‘tonic’ or ‘pick-me-up’, and in the treatment of Anemia, Kidney complaints and circulation problems. Its soothing effects are well known.
